Niece of famed abolitionist, Frederick Douglass, Lucy Farrow was born into slavery in 1847 in Virginia. After Reconstruction, Farrow moved to Houston, where she operated a healing mission along the banks of the Buffalo Bayou. In her 64 years, she was a vital part of the Pentecostal Movement that swept the Old and New Worlds.
